Thread the free end with the diamond knot through the loop of the soft shackle that is connected to the recovery point. Pull the diamond knot completely through the loop until it seats firmly and the shackle cinches tight around the recovery point, ensuring no slack. To connect to recovery straps, pass the strap's end loop through the soft shackle opening, then feed the diamond knot through this strap loop. Pull tight to secure the connection. Soft shackles can also be used with recovery rings to redirect pulling forces or with equalizer straps to distribute loads between two attachment points.
