Installation Guide:
Mirror Installation: The main mirror unit attaches to your pre-existing rearview mirror using the provided silicone rubber straps. Ensure a secure fit with the appropriate strap size for your mirror.
Front Bumper Camera Installation: This camera can be mounted using double-sided sticky tape or a mounting bracket with screws. It is crucial to ensure the camera is flat and level, avoiding an angled-down view. Route the camera wire through your vehicle's grill, then under the engine bay, and through the firewall to the floorboard. Continue routing the wire up the A-pillar and finally to the main mirror unit. Use electrical tape around connections to ensure weather and waterproofing.
Rear Camera Installation: The rear camera offers flexible mounting options, either inside or outside your vehicle, and can be mounted on the license plate using the included bracket. Route its wires through existing rubber feed plugs in the back of the rear cab, along the interior trim, and to the main unit.
Hardwiring Kit Installation (for parking monitoring): The black wire from the hardwiring kit should be connected to a ground point, such as a bolt near your car battery. The yellow (BATT) wire connects to a constant power source, and the red (ACC) wire connects to an ignition-switched power source. Feed these wires through the firewall to the floorboard, then up the A-pillar, and into the side paneling to reach the main mirror unit. A pry bar can be useful for tucking wires under trim.
GPS System Installation: The GPS system simply plugs into the main unit. Route its wires along the top of the windshield and down the side, or wedge it between the windshield and the dash.
General Installation Tips: Before finalizing camera placement, especially for the front bumper and rear cameras, check for sun visor clearance if installed internally. Always stick 3M adhesives directly to glass surfaces for optimal adhesion. When connecting the rear camera's AV plug, push it until you hear a "click" to ensure a sensitive and secure connection. For enhanced stability and to prevent vibration-based disconnects, consider using electrical tape around the extension joiner for the rear camera. Ensure the power cable is plugged into the top-left port of the main unit.
Troubleshooting: If you encounter a "Please Format SD Card" message, navigate to Settings and select Format. If the screen is blank or there is no power, verify that the power cable is in the top-left port and check all hardwire connections. If the rear camera is not detected, push its AV plug until it clicks. If the rear camera image appears upside down, toggle the "Rear Flip" or "Mirror Flip" option in the touchscreen menu.
