Always refer to your vehicle's owner's manual and the jump starter's user guide for specific instructions. Before starting, ensure both the vehicle and the jump starter are switched off. 1. Put the car in park (or neutral for manual transmission) and apply the parking brake. Turn off the ignition. 2. Locate your vehicle's battery and identify the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals. 3. Connect the red (positive) clamp of the jump starter to the positive (+) terminal of the dead battery. 4. Connect the black (negative) clamp to an unpainted metal part of the engine block or chassis away from the battery. Alternatively, some jump starters may instruct to connect directly to the negative (-) terminal; consult your jump starter's guide. 5. Turn on the jump starter. Some models may have a boost button that needs to be pressed. 6. Start your vehicle. 7. Once the vehicle starts, carefully disconnect the cables in reverse order: first the black (negative) clamp, then the red (positive) clamp. 8.
